It's wonderful how encouraging your videos are.
ReplyDeleteI've never regretted doing my absolute best. And I would never "phone it in." Been there, done that. Didn't feel good. Didn't work for me.
But I've found I have to pick my battles, know when to try for maximum quality, or...when 95% works just as well. "Awfully damned good" is sometimes better than perfect when I need to get a lot of things done. That last 5% can really cost me, so I have to decide when it's actually worth it!
Setting high standards for oneself really helps one aim higher doesn't it? :-) If we feel we deserve better and could do better, tnen we end up making certain adjustments and improvements that would help us reach the higher goals we've set.

ReplyDeleteI set high standards because life is *not* all about me. I realize there is a legacy that will one day follow me. They will need to know what their ancestors were doing and why--and hopefully choose to set their own high standards for achieving what is in their heart while helping others in this world.

ReplyDeleteToo often I forget to set the standard before I start, then I'm faced with the "good enough" vs "start over " question. Not a great place to be.
ReplyDeleteBizBuyer, you bring up a good point. We can waste valuable time down the road if we don't think through things on the front-end. Just remember, at every point along the way, you have a choice about the next step to take.
